Los Angeles

Mark frequently visited the greater southern California area growing up as his mother grew up in Long Beach and Mark’s grandfather Bill Gould worked at Southern California Edison.  Here are some of Mark’s favorite places to visit in the greater Los Angeles area.

1) Crystal Cove State Beach: Even though this hidden area of Southern California is not technically within the LA City limits, it’s close enough to make this list.  Check it out and enjoy this treasure of the south.

2) Santa Monica Pier: This is a must see for every person who visits LA.  If you’ve read the book “Grapes of Wrath” then you will be able to visit the very last part of the old “Route 66” that is mentioned in this book.  Along with being an historic landmark, the Santa Monica Pier is simply a lot of fun.  It has a huge ferris wheel, all types of restaurant stands, and it also has a spot at the end of the pier where locals get out there and try their hand at fishing.  Whether it’s a date, or a family outing, you will not be disappointed by the Santa Monica Pier!  (Official Site Here)

3) Disneyland

4) Griffith Observatory:

5) Runyon Canyon Park:

6) The Getty Museum:

7) Staples Center:

8) The Huntington Park Library:

9) Magic Mountain:

10) Didi Reese:
