The best free agent power forward in the NBA is Drew Gooden:

Every summer I follow the NBA free-agency process very closely and I am frankly shocked that Cleveland is not doing everything in their power to retain Drew Gooden.  I've been playing against most nba power forwards over the years and Drew is the best one that is available in this year's class as well as being one of the top players in the league.  If Cleveland is foolish enough to let him go, it will be at their loss.  If there is any way we could get him up to MN to play some center alongside KG, our front line would be unbelievable.

I agree entirely -- only I want him for the Washington Wizards, where he'd mean that we'd be contending for the E. Conference title immediately.

Why is this guy so underrated? He fills up a stat sheet and doesn't demand the ball.

I love Gooden and all, but I would have to respectfully disagree about the assertion that he is one of the top players in the league. He is a good rebounder, but has streaky offensive skills and probably could play defense a little better. He is a quality PF, but he is asking a lot of Cleveland and they aren't quite sure he is worth that kind of an investment. I remember watching him here in Orlando when he came down in the Mike Miller trade. I just felt like he always underplayed his potential. Now Mike Miller... That would be a great pickup for the T-Wolves. Mark... maybe you could suggest something to the front office?

Drew Gooden may "fill up a stat sheet", but don't forget who he's playing with. Anderson Varajeo put up almost identical numbers by the minute. Better numbers if you look only at the playoffs. That was after missing nearly half a season due to injury and spending a lot of time on the floor with the second team.

Don't forget, Carlos Boozer also "filled up a stat sheet" while playing next to Lebron.

Gooden is too inconsistent and too much of a defensive liability to get Nene money. Nene is not even worth Nene money! The Cavs offered somewhere between 45 and 48MM over six years. He should take it.

Lets get Reggie Evans. We need one more big man to help out KG, Mark, Mark and Eddie.

Dog, you are spot on with your Gooden analysis. Continue the great work, and get in shape for the season!
