Mike Montgomery and the Indiana Vacancy
If there is a coach out there who would be an excellent candidate for the Indiana basketball job, it would be Mike Montgomery. Having played for "Monty" as everyone calls him, I can tell you that his knowledge of the game is vast and he knows how to run a team. When I was at Stanford, he kind of just put everyone in a position where they were going to be able to be as successful as possible. I haven't talked to him yet about this vacancy and maybe he'll get mad at me for putting his name out there like this, but even Dick Vitale was talking about it tonight on TV too. Monty's wife actually has family ties in the Midwest (Minnesota) and with both of his kids grown and out of college, it might be a good fit for everyone.

I totally agree with you (and Vitale) on hiring Mike Montgomery as the next IU coach!! I actually wanted Monty to be the next IU coach after Mike Davis resigned. Monty has proven himself as a solid college coach that know the fundamentals of basketball, which is missing for a lot of teams these days. Monty has high standards and nobody does it better than Monty when it comes to coaching a close game with 2 minutes to go. Thanks for spreading the word!!!

Why doesn't your team hold an up rising and refuse to play until McHale is fired. You're a joke and you don't even care. What is wrong with your players.
Only people that care are Walker and Jefferson. The rest of you are bums

I have to agree that Monty would be a GREAT fit for Indiana... a winner with a clean record. I don't know if he would pack up and leave the West Coast for Indiana, but it sure would be fun to watch the Hoosiers under his command!!

If Mike Montgomery is looking to bring class and tradition back to a big name school, he needs to look no further.
As Mad Dog and others have posted here, IU would be a fantastic fit!
Please drop a note to Mike to get the ball rolling as it were :)
Mad Dog,
Any chance you can grab that mouthpiece and suite up for Indiana next year?
We could sure use some of your hustle and passion you exhibited at Standford back in the day!

Hey Mark,
I met you earlier today at the Blazer game backstage, we talked about being a GM and how Mr. Kupchak said that scouting college prospects is a crap shoot. I really appreciated the time you took to talk to me and it got me even more excited to work in the NBA.
I agree that Indiana needs someone with experience and knowledge of how to put a team together. With Eric Gordon gone (hopefully to my Blazers!) after this season they will need a good leader/head coach which Mr. Montgomery provides.
Once again, thank you for taking time to talk to me and my timid L.A. fan friend. You made two more fans today! haha
