Tonight we lost a very close game to the Los Angeles Clippers.  We were down by one point with 4.3 seconds left and we needed one basket to win the game.  During our timeout, Coach Casey drew up a play that got KG open for a pass with time expiring. From my angle, Kevin's shot looked like it was going in.  I thought I was seeing the Philadelphia game all over again with Kevin nailing the last second shot and our team running off the court victorious.  Well, Kev's jumper barely missed and we lost the game.  Such is life in the NBA.  Kevin wants the ball in those situations.  He knows he's either going to be the hero or the goat and he's got the courage and the skill for those moments.

I had to ride the bike for 15 minutes in the training room after the game because I need to stay in shape.  Kevin and Trenton Hassell were in there too and we kind of talked about what happened throughout the game.  Kevin was in his normal spot--on the first training table cooling down and unwinding after the game.  Trenton always comes in the training room to change clothes too and to have some privacy from the media.  A few minutes later our old buddy Sam Cassell came down to talk.  It's always great to see Sam.  He told us about the refs called a foul on him while he was guarding Randy Foye.  He said something like this:

"Randy Foye is athletic! Randy Foye jumped over me and almost dunked it!  Then the ref called a foul on me!  I said, 'How can it be a foul on me, when he jumped over me!"

Allright well, it's 1am and I am tired.  I can't think about the game anymore so I'm going to call it a night!

It's great to get your thoughts about the game, the inside stuff that you don't really get to hear about. I'm amazed you have the time (and energy) to keep up with the blog. But we enjoy it! Keep up the good work. Tough game against the Clips.

Hey Mark,

Tough loss last night but great games, fun to watch except, of course, the ending but, like you said, such is life in the NBA or better put, such is life in basketball... you can't win them all as much as you would like to unless you are Clemson I guess.

Keep your held up, keep the momentum going and get the next game in the W column.

Take Care,

Mark,

I have a personal request of you. We have an event coming up on February 17th for a non-profit organization that benefits education in MN. At the event we will have a silent auction to raise funds. We would love it if you would be able to donate a couple of signed items for the silent auction.

If you have any interest in donating a few items, can you please email me at Love25Basketball@comcast.net. Thank you very much for your consideration and keep up the good work.

Take Care,
Rachel (Olivia's Mom)

Keep up the good work Mark! We're big fans and have watched you ever since you played at Stanford, then with the Lakers.

I'm perhaps the craziest french fan of you and your team of Minnesota... and it's the most intense privilege i have of my life to send you many words... and i really feel stupid because i 've never noticed before that i could send you an email!!! So, let me told you that you're like a god for me... you symbolize the kind of inside player i dream to be... you know, i play in a little team and i'm a center and i try to draw my inspiration from you. Since the beginning of the season, i've managed to dunk !! (oooh.. now i must stop talking about me... let's speak about you...) I really congratulate you to be a NBA player... you'd probably worked a lot at the university of Stanford and now you play in the best league of the world... with the best players like Da Kid, Ricky, Trenton, and Mike James (a boy i saw when he played in Nancy, a french team when i was very young). I personally remember a great game you played against Detroit in 2004 (you won 88-87 and Sam Cassel and Latrell were still T'Wolves). So... that's all i wanted to tell you... i just wanted to greet you and thank you for everything you bring around you and all around the world. All the hope you give to youngsters, playing basketball and dreaming of NBA... I wish you a play-off title with the wolves.
